Cubetti-Os
A nostalgic favorite for 90s kids, reimagined with Brami Cubetti. This cozy one-pot pasta comes together in just 20 minutes with a rich tomato sauce, plenty of Parmesan, and optional mini meatballs.
🕒 Prep & Cook Time: 20 min | Serves 4
Ingredients:
-
1 Tbsp olive oil
-
½ small onion, finely diced
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
3 oz tomato paste
-
3 cups water (plus more as needed)
-
1 box Brami Cubetti
-
2 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Cooked mini meatballs, optional
-
Fresh basil, for serving
-
Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions:
-
Heat the olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
-
Stir in the tomato paste, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the tomato paste deepens in color.
-
Add pasta, and stir well.
-
Add the water (or broth) and stir well to combine, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.
-
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened and clings to the pasta, about 10-12 minutes. Add a little more water as needed if it dries out before the pasta is cooked.
-
Stir in cooked mini meatballs, if using, and cook until warmed through.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
-
Serve warm topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
