If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, which are both also part of the legume family, we suggest exercising caution when trying lupini based products, including BRAMI products, for the first time and until you are comfortable that you fully understand your body's level of tolerance and potential reaction. Legumes as a family include peanuts, soy, lupini beans, lentils, chickpeas, peas, and others. A person with a product allergy to one product within the legume family, may find that they also have sensitivity to other products within the family (i.e. a cross-reactivity). Cross-reactivity between different products within the legume family is somewhat common, but certainly not universal: for example, some people who are allergic to one legume (e.g., peanuts or soy) may also react to other legumes (like lupini beans or chickpeas), while others may tolerate other legume family products just fine. We understand various studies have concluded that individuals with a sensitivity to either peanuts or soy, specifically, tend to be more likely to have cross-reactivity with the other product, than with other legume family products such as lupini beans, but we urge all consumers with a sensitivity to any product in the legume family to be cautious when consuming any other legume family product for the first time and until your body's reaction and tolerance is fully understood.
Please consult your doctor or allergen specialist as necessary for further information on the potential for, and likelihood of, a cross-reactivity reaction or sensitivity, and please do whatever further research you deem necessary to better under the risks and implications of cross-reactivity, before consuming our lupini bean-based products.
