12 oz. Curly Mac
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-
3 cups whole milk
-
4 ounces Fontina cheese, grated
-
4 ounces Gruyère cheese, grated
-
4 ounces sharp white Cheddar cheese, grated
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard
-
1 tsp cayenne pepper
-
1 tsp Garlic power
-
2 tins Jose Gourmet Smoked Salmon, drained
-
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
-
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook according to the package instructions until just al dente.
-
In a large saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat until fully melted and starting to bubble. Add the flour and whisk together for 1 minute.
-
Add the milk in small increments while stirring to incorporate into the roux. Once all the milk is added, continue stirring for 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
-
Add the cheeses, dijon mustard, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder to the pot. Off heat and stir well allowing the cheese to melt.
-
Add Curly Mac and smoked salmon to the pot. Stir until all ingredients all well incorporated.
-
Transfer the mac and cheese into a 9 × 9 inch baking dish. Distribute breadcrumbs evenly on top and place under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes. Be sure to watch carefully as the breadcrumbs will burn easily.
-
Let cool for 5-10 minutes, and enjoy!
