Edicola No. 5
Somewhere around the end of August, everyone starts talking as though summer is already over. We disagree.
There are still warm nights left, tomatoes at their best and plenty of reasons to eat dinner outside. Consider this our refusal to call it early, and one last ride through the world of the Cubetti Western.
This month, we're taking you from the stands of Yankee Stadium to an imaginary Italian beach club, with a bowl of Cowboy Caviar Cubetti waiting at the end.
What's On Our Table
A night at the ballpark is one of the best things summer has to offer.
We've always said our protein pasta is so good, even Nonna will approve. So naturally, we brought a whole army of them to Yankee Stadium.
Our Nonna Army rolled into the Bronx and made itself right at home in the stands, bringing plenty of familia energy to one of New York's most beloved summer rituals.
There's something about going to a baseball game that makes you feel like summer might last forever. You settle into your seat, lose track of time between innings and stay until the lights come on. But add a few dozen nonnas to the mix and some cold beer on a hot summer eve, and the Bronx has never looked more Italian.
Grazie mille to the Yankees and everyone who joined the famiglia for a night we won't soon forget.
What We're Listening To
What happens when a cowboy trades his horse for a Vespa and rides straight to the Italian coast? We imagine it sounds something like this.
Lido Rodeo is our soundtrack for the last beach days of summer: sun-warmed disco, Italian classics and Euro-pop best played with the windows down. Boots optional. Sunglasses essential.
WHAT WE'RE COOKING
Every good Western deserves a sequel.
Cowboy caviar meets pasta salad in this colorful Cubetti situation built for cookouts, beach picnics and easy lunches. It's bright, crunchy and hearty enough to hold its own as the main event — all tied together with a cumin-lime dressing.
UNTIL NEXT TIME
Consider this your permission slip to keep summer going a little longer.
Put on Lido Rodeo, make the Cowboy Caviar and take dinner outside while you still can. Summer isn't over until we say it is.
Until the next edition,
Casa Brami
