BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO THE TABLE, AND A LITTLE LESS DINNER DRAMA.

September has a way of filling the calendar before you've quite agreed to it. School starts. Meetings multiply.

Somewhere between pickup, homework, and the trip home, and all of a sudden someone's already asking what's for dinner.

A reasonable question. But more often than not, the last question you want to answer.

This month, we've been thinking about what it means to take the drama out of dinner. For one household, it's finding something everyone will eat. For another, it's getting a few more vegetables onto the plate without opening negotiations. Sometimes it's making enough tonight that tomorrow's lunch is already handled. Sometimes it's feeding yourself properly after a long day.

Different tables, different schedules. A shared wish for dinner to feel a little easier.

What's on Our Table

This month, we gathered with a group of Brooklyn moms for an evening hosted by Gina Bruno, with easy weeknight dinners on the menu.

We demoed two recipes built for the realities of a school night: a turkey bolognese with vegetables tucked into the sauce, and a roasted veggie pasta bake finished with a bubbling layer of mozzarella.

The idea was to give everyone a few more answers to that daily dinner question. Something familiar enough for the kids, satisfying enough for the grown-ups, and totally manageable for whoever's doing the cooking.

For us, that's where Brami fits in. Italian-made pasta with protein and fiber, ready for the sauce your family already loves, or the one you're about to try.

Thank you to Gina and all the moms who joined us. We're sharing both recipes below, so you can bring a little of the evening home with you.

WHAT WE'RE LISTENING TO

Some nights (most, in Casa Brami), the first step toward dinner is putting something good on.

This month's playlist, Dinner, Hold the Drama, mixes Italian favorites with a little soul and a few songs that make home feel like a good place to be. Put it on while the oven heats, keep it playing while the sauce simmers, and let it carry you through the dishes.

WHAT WE'RE COOKING

Two recipes from our Brooklyn evening, ready for your weeknight rotation.

SNEAKY VEGGIE TURKEY BOLOGNESE

Carrots, zucchini, onion, and garlic blend into a rich tomato sauce with ground turkey. For anyone whose dinner table includes a small vegetable detective.

SHEET PAN ROASTED VEGGIE PASTA BAKE

The oven does much of the work here. Roasted tomatoes, peppers, onion, and garlic become a creamy sauce; mozzarella takes care of the finishing touch.

Until next time,
