An effortless twist on the classic pesto. Adding pistachios creates a unique flavor that’s nutty and herbaceous.

  • 1 box (8oz) - Brami Penne Pasta
  • 2 cups basil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Juice from ½ a lemon
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup pistachios
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • Sea salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, for topping
  • Chopped pistachios, for topping



  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once the water has reached a vigorous boil add a generous pinch of salt.
  2. Add your Penne Pasta and cook for 6-8 minutes, tasting often.
  3. While the pasta is cooking, add basil, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, pistachios, and parmesan cheese to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. If needed, add extra olive oil to help with the consistency of the pesto.
  4. Add salt and pepper to the pesto to taste.
  5. Drain the pasta and add to a large bowl.
  6. Mix together the pesto and pasta. Serve with parmesan cheese, chopped pistachios, and ground black pepper.
